This is probably the smallest place you guys have played isnt it?

yea pretty much

Where does the name come from?

No-where in particular, there is no meaning behind the name.

It is a Misfits song though, were also being sued by a small band from Philly who found out that we had not yet copyrighted it and so now the album we recently recorded has been delayed while these legal proceedings take place

As a band we have been together now for two and a half years

Ages?

We are all 22/23

Outside of the band what are your interests?

The band is our main interest we are on tour all year round, it is a full time job the only breaks we have are when we are in the studio recording, although it doesnt pay like a full-time job

Is this the first time you guys have been to the UK?

This is the second time weve been over to the UK; we were over previously in November, we played 24 shows in 25 days that time we played four UK shows this time there have been seven, Leicester, London and Glasgow have been good places weve played so far on this tour

What sort of countries have you toured in?

We have played all over the US pretty much every major city and most countries in Europe

What sort of bands have you played with?

Avail, Converge, Poison The Well, Hatebreed, Striking Distance

Have you guys got any favourite touring bands at all?

Not really no

Do you find touring difficult? What are the most positive and negative aspects about the process of touring?

Negative yea, our fuckin best friend lost all our money on our first day here, weve been pissed of about that all this week

Do you guys do anything to keep fit when your not touring so that you can be on your most physically fit levels and can be more energetic onstage?

Some of us Skateboard but like I mentioned earlier we are usually home for around two weeks at the most before we go out on tour again so I suppose being on tour is the way we keep fit, we do put all our energy into the performances

Are any of you into the straightedge or have been at any time?

Were all straightedge except for Wes our singer

What are your opinions of straightedge / religion in hardcore?

We dont really care about it, its a personal choice, no one gives a shit, it doesnt matter anymore.

Have you ever toured with any straightedge bands?

We all tour with friends, no one gives a shit about a label (that wasnt what I was getting at)

How do you make money is it through the venues and selling merch? Do you design all your merchandise yourselves? If not who does?

Linas does most of our designs for the shirts, hes designed art for AFI and the Nerve Agents, he does work for a lot of different bands.

Are there any releases coming up for the band or is this tour to support a recent release? Where are you going after this UK tour?

Were going to Belgium and the Netherlands tommorow where we will be playing two shows then we are going back to the states to tour and then we will practise in the fall.

Do you guys have a certain way of writing music?

Wes writes all of the time, were always surrounded by people on tour which sometimes makes it difficult to do that so when we get home that when most of the songwritting is done

Who do you all respect more than any other band and for what reason?

Converge because theve been going for soo long about 10 years now and yet they still always seem to be progressing as a band but in a good way, there still very punk and hardcore as a band.

Has being in the band given you all a more positive outlook on life as far as what the band has enabled you to tour travel/tour/release records?

Its a hobby turned good, it maskes us very happy to be able to do this all the time, young dudes in a van , touring all around the world, weve made a lot of friends in a lot of different interesting places. At the same time we also have a lot of friends who are not into hardcore but who still respect what we do, its funny its the people who you would not expect to be supportive like the ones who are not into the music thsn the ones who are so yes it has givan us all a more positive outlook and its helped to broudend our horizons and opinions.

Up to now who in your lifetimes have influenced you either through the band or in your own outlook?

Our parents most probably

Whats the friendliest / most receptive place youve played or country?

Places where we have a lot of friends such as Seattle, home matters (boston) but so do all the other places we visit, San Diago, Philly, Georgia, Atlanta the list goes on!

If you could have one wish what would it be for?

To play in Japan its a place we would like to visit as well as be able to play to, because I imagine it would be so much more different to anything we would both see and hear and experience to anything in Europe and America, it would be great its a whole diffierent culture and its always good to expericence something new.

Thankyou very much to American Nightmare for the interview.
